I am on windows and only have issues like that, when my sequence has the wrong codec selceted and has renderd footage in the timeline. Make sure you selected the right settings for your sequences.
I just checked the sequence settings and cant see h.264 in the editing mode as a setting for sequences. Maybe try and convert your footage into a supported codec first.
