I have Captivate 8, running under Windows 8. Since purchasing this software under subscription several months ago, I have successfully used it to create some simple presentations. In recent times, though, I have created a more elaborate project which uses some of the in-built widgets to make better use of the functionality available to me. In particular, my current project uses both the jigsaw puzzle widget (on one slide) and the drag-and-drop widget (on several slides). Ever since introducing the drag-and-drop functionality to my project, I have had a great deal of difficulty in maintaining the stability of content on my slides. I find that the drag-and-drop functionality constantly seems to disappear from the slides to which it was applied. This is very frustrating because the widget takes a lot of time for me to set up, due to the interface design of the widget itself; which often requires me to turn off visibility of certain items on my slide and increase the zoom resolution to maximum in order to correctly place drag-and-drop components where I need them. At the moment, my project has reached a stalemate because the drag-and-drop functionality seems to have disappeared from the slides on which I have created, both during the design phase and during testing. When I have the project open to work on its design, the Drag-and-Drop tab is no longer present on the slides to which this functionality was added. During testing (both Preview and Publish), the drag-and-drop functionality which was once present has gone from all of the slides I added it to: dragging on areas of the screen to which it was applied has no effect. Paradoxically, I can see that the remnants of this functionality still exist somewhere on these slides, since during testing, playback of the slide halts, just as though the logic embedded within the slide was expecting me to perform the drag-and-drop operation, even though I am not able to do so.
If there has been a product upgrade to correct this issue - or even a workaround which still allows me to retain the existing functionality of my project (ie. use of both the puzzle and drag-drop widgets), it would be great to know of an answer.
