I agree. Flash had (and still has) a lot of potential. The way I see it, Flash should be where Unity is today, maybe even further. But let's be honest, Adobe has given up on Flash long before Steve Jobs made it a formal decision for them. Apart from Stage3D, I haven't seen a major feature in Flash since ActionScript 3.0, which was introduced in 2006. That's almost a decade... And even Stage3D was (and still is) a half baked feature. Where are the first party tools and frameworks to use it? Why isn't there an IDE to build and view a 3D scene in Flash?
I really hope Adobe realises that (at least for them) Flash still makes more sense (and money), and get back on further development. ActionScript 4.0 would be nice, along with supporting their own Stage3D with better tools.
