I really appreciate all of the suggestions but I was hoping Adobe would just let me know when they get this fixed. It appears to be a common bug that a lot of people are running into. Adobe even has an official solution to the problem but the solution doesn't actually solve the problem. I've always been careful to not just try things but to wait and figure out the correct solution before trying things that might lead to other problems on top of the existing one. I'm sure that the people at Adobe are working on this one and as soon as they have it figured out they will let me know. I have two macs just in the room I work in that have the same identical problem and these computers have two different operators, etc. so it's not some isolated problem caused by some kind of unique issue, this is some kind of issue with the way the updates are working.
