Thanks for the info/suggestions!
All three monitors work with the 2200 card, at least for now. The first 2000 card worked for a few weeks then dropped one monitor. The PNY tech support guy, who was very nice, said "well that was a miracle", he said it is very fussy about cabling. The second one did not work with three monitors out of the box. But he had me switch to a different style DVI cable and it worked for a week. Then it died a horrible death. He got his engineer involved, but they don't make the card, so we never got to the design team, who I expect has seen the failure (the curse of buying a card from someone other than the maker).
It sounds like Adobe, who NVIDIA quoted in their release of the card as saying it was tested and approved, has dropped the ball. I checked the box saying 'use it' after I got the error message. I looked again and it may be it is using Mercury, I'll try something complicated in AE and do some Pr work with it tomorrow.
