For some problems like this, it ends up requiring an uninstall of the program, running Adobe's CC Cleaner app tool, then re-installing the program. Takes 30 minutes or so to do, is kind of a pain, but ... for some things, this actually finds that weird place somewhere on your computer where their's a bad bit of instruction for the program, so that when you reinstall it just ... works.
Can't guarantee that it will cure you ills, but it's probably the next step to try.
