Re: Photoshop CC / Windows 8.1 HiDPI / Retina scaling support

Chris, undoubtedly there are. But I think the disconnect you are having with some in the community is the continued finger pointing at Microsoft without seeming to accepting any ownership on Adobe's part.

Mechanisms in Windows have existed for years to creat high DPI-aware user interfaces. Indeed, the fact that Illustrator now scales gracefully is proof in your own product that it is possible to build such user experiences. You have given no reason why the Photoshop UI could not be adapted to use such mechanisms. The stance that "Windows doesn't support the necessary APIs" makes it sound like Adobe is waiting for Microsoft to fix 25 year-old legacy code that has already been replaced by newer frameworks. Why isn't the onus on Adobe to adapt its product to use newer methods?

If it's too much work, just say so. But take some ownership of the decision.

I'm not trying to be a jerk here, just giving you my honest take on this. I am glad to see the progress you are making, and looking forward to further enhancements.
