Depending on your project's complexity and/or specific "tools" used, the link from PrPro can be very solid & a huge time-saver. I rarely use a "native" launch of Sg any more. Some mask work seems still problematic, but most things work fairly well. My one big caveat with linked work at the moment is the way auto-save is turned off in a D-L session. I understand the idea of not wanting Sg to mess with PrPro timelines & all ... however ... and Dennis has heard my comments on this even in person (and he's a really sweet guy very excited to work on this software) ... they need to have a way in the standard nature of the operation to autosave!
One does get used to auto-save in ALL other uses of these programs, so it is very easy to simply forget to manually increment a manual save every 5/10 minutes. Which can be very painful, wasting of time, and bloody ANNOYING.
But as I said earlier, Dennis & Patrick have heard me on this. Not that I've seen the autosave variant introduced for the D-L process, but one hopes ...
You might try out a D-L process. After a bit, one starts changing the whole workflow and it does become rather addicting. And time-saving.
